CORPORAL MARTIN LUTHER COOPER SON OF JAMES CALONE AND ZORAH BELL COOPER  WAS A STORE OPERATOR IN DAVIS WEST VIRGINIA BEFORE BEING INDUCTED INTO THE ARMY ON 10 SEPTEMBER 1943. HE SERVED IN THE PACIFIC WITH AN ARMORED FIELD ARTILLERY BATTALION(UNKNOWN) FROM DECEMBER 1944 TO MAY 1945. CPL COOPER WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED ON 13 OCTOBER 1945 AT CAMP ATTERBURY INDIANA. MARTIN COOPER PASSED AWAY IN DAVIS WEST VIRGINIA ON 22 JUNE 1986.
