TECHNICIAN FOURTH GRADE HARRY W. PHILLIPS WAS EMPLOYED AS A A GROCERY STORE CLERK IN PARSONS WEST VIRGINIA BEFORE BEING INDUCTED INTO THE ARMY ON 6 APRIL 1942. T/4 PHILLIPS SERVED AS A MARINE ENGINE MAN IN THE PACIFIC WITH COMPANY "C" 542ND ENGINEER AMPHIBIAN REGIMENT FROM 24 FEBRUARY 1943 TO 22 OCTOBER 1945. AFTER RETURNING TO THE STATES T/4 PHILLIPS WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED AT CAMP ATTERBURY INDIANA ON 3 NOVEMBER 1945. HARRY PHILLIPS PASSED AWAY ON 13 JULY 2000 IN LORAIN OHIO.
