Prior to service, 2nd Lt. Adams worked with the Agricultural Extension Service, State of Vermont in Burlington. He had two years of military college and service with the national guard.
2nd Lt. Harold Adams was trained at Kelly Field, Texas, Army School of Military Aeronautics (September 1918), where as an enlisted man he received his commission.
At the time of his death, he was serving as a flight instructor at Park Field, Millington, Tennessee (near Memphis) with the Army Air Service, Army Signal Corps Aviation School. He was 22 years old when he was killed in an accident.
