Description December 17, 2003,counterinsurgent sweep of the Iraqi town of Samarra involved elements of the U.S. 4th Infantry Division. The raids during the operation resulted in many arrests of believed guerrilla fighters and suspected terrorists.

Personal Memories
Memories I dont remember much as i look back. I do remember jumping the TAC to Balad. But I was in an Aviation unit and not part of the door kicking. my job was to provide intel for the pilots dropping and picking people up. I do remember that this was my first major operation and I remember the train up and monitoring the radios as it went down and then calling up sitreps to the pilots. I was the only intel guy for my BN.
