Additional Information
Last Known Activity:
Carl was killed during a night-time training excersise when his UH-1 helicopter collided with a rocky outcrop during a landing attempt on the Hawaiian main island. He was the only fatality. The other crewmembers were critically injured, but eventually recovered and returned to duty. They have all since died of natural causes or other injuries. He was on the flight to keep his flight status current.
Other Comments:
I have never personally had any pictures of Carl, either in civilian clothes or in uniform. I met him in 1972 at the local Army recruiting office. He was home on leave and was visiting friends in Pontiac, Illinois. We had pics taken together and i know there were some taken of him alone, but i never had any of them and had only seen them briefly between 1972 and 1975. If anyone knows him and has any pics of him, please send them to me and i'll post them.
