World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Army in Company K, 109th Infantry, 28th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on September 12 and 17, 1944 near Kalborn, Luxembourg and near Sevenig, Germany. He was awarded the Medal on August 23, 1945 by President Harry S. Truman.
