CLINTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Presbyterian College announced Monday that a graduate was killed while serving in Afghanistan.

Jarrold Reeves, a 1982 alumnus, was reportedly one of four victims killed in an apparent suicide bombing at Bagram Airfield on Saturday. Reeves was a retired Army colonel and serving as a contractor, the college said.

Two soldiers and another contractor were also killed in the attack, prompting the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan to close. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, which left 16 others wounded.

Reeves was reportedly an employee of Fluor Corporation. The company confirmed on Monday two of their employees were killed in the attack.

Below is a statement released by a Fluor spokesperson:

We are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts and prayers go out to the deceased employees?? families and friends. Our priority right now is the safety and security of employees working on the base and supporting the families of the two colleagues we have lost. As is our policy, out of respect for the families, we will not be releasing the employees?? names.

FORT KNOX, Ky. (April 26, 2011) - The 3d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) celebrated the career of one of its original members during a retirement ceremony, Thursday April 21 at Olive Theater.

During the ceremony, Col. Jarrold M. Reeves, the 3d ESC's deputy commander, officially retired after 29 years of active duty service.

Col. Reeves was one of the first members of the 3d ESC to move from Wiesbaden, Germany to Fort Knox, when it was known as the 3d Corps Support Command. During that time, Col. Reeves served as the point of contact for all matters regarding incoming Soldiers, equipment and training for the 3d ESC's eventual deployment to Iraq.

He was also one of two Soldiers initially deployed to Haiti during the commands deployment in support of Operation Unified Response.

Brig. Gen. Robin B. Akin thanked Col. Reeves for his service as well as for contributions to the 3d ESC.

"We are celebrating someone and a career of exceptional quality, and at the same time we feel sadness and a sense of loss," said Brig. Gen. Akin. "The retirement of a great Soldier whose dedication to duty and selfless service, was second to none."

Col. Reeves, a native of Atlanta, said he was thankful for the support he's received from his immediate, Army and community families throughout his 29 year career.

"I owe my parents for teaching me the Army Values of loyalty, duty, respect selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage while growing up," said Col. Reeves.

During his speech, Col. Reeves recalled a story about his wife visiting her parents in Kentucky when she came across news that the 3d COSCOM was relocating to Fort Knox.

"She said did you know that the 3d COSCOM will be moving to Fort Knox. I told her that I didn't think that's been released yet so let's not talk about it," said Col. Reeves said. "She then said, well I've picked out 3 homes so tell me which one you like. Luckily, the Army agreed with her."

Col. Reeves said he and his family plan to make Kentucky their permanent home and will stay in touch with the command as much as possible.

"I thank god for the great support I've had from my family and for the opportunities he's afforded me," said Col. Reeves. "God bless America, God bless the U.S. Army and God bless the Soldiers. Sustaining the line!"

Col. Reeves received the Legion of Merit for his exceptionally meritorious service from July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2011.
