Elvis Lee Bingham, 37, died Saturday, March 7, 2015. Originally from Gainesville, Georgia, he was stationed at Fort Hood, assigned to the 43rd Engineer Company, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Calvary Regiment.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Cochran Bingham of Gainesville GA, his daughter, Breanna Faith Bingham and her mother Kim Baugh and step-father Jason Baugh both of Jefferson, GA, his parents, Otis and Brenda Bingham of Pendergrass, GA, a sister, Lisa Russell (William) of Pendergrass and a brother, Hank Bingham, also of Pendergrass, and his brother's girlfriend, Shari Feldman of Acworth, Ga. He is also survived by his aunt, Janice Chitwood (Danny) of Clarkesville, Georgia, and an uncle, Corbet Bingham of Homer, Ga. Bingham is also survived by a number of cousins and his and Julie's German-shepherd, DaVinci.
Bingham entered active duty service for the United States Army in May 2012 as a Horizontal Constructions Engineer, and in October 2012, was assigned to his current company. He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in June 2014 and returned from deployment in February 2015. His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Sapper Spirit Award.
