John Robert Lemons was a son of John Alexander Lemmons and Evie Ola Wilson Lemons.

John Robert was a brother to James Willie Lemons, Living Lemons, Ruthie Ellen Elizabeth Lemons St. John, Thelma Idell Lemons Hanks, Harley Weekley Lemons, SR and Bobby Eli Lemons.

PFC John Robert Lemons was killed February 21, 1947 around 2 o'clock A. M. in a oilpipe/waterheater explosion. Two quonset huts burnt to ashes in 5 minutes. 
Lemons lost his life in one of the huts.

The tragic accident occured at Keflavik airport in Keflavik, Iceland.

PFC John Robert Lemons was in the 36th Infantry. He was in the South Pacific 2 years and 10 months.
