 Additional Information
Last Known Activity:

Maj. Davison was a career nurse in the U.S. Army. This Angel's awards included Legion of Merit, and she received the Distinguished Service Medal (DSM), awarded posthumously on 20 August, 2001.

She had first been recommended for this medal in 1945/1946 but the male dominated, stuff shirt Army command downgraded it to the Legion of Merit - even though Gen MacArthur himself recommended she get the DSM.

Her WWII decorations included the following:

Distinguished Service Medal (awarded 2001)
Legion of Merit
Bronze Star Medal
American Defense Medal with bronze campaign star
American Campaign Medal
Asiatic Pacific campaign Medal with two bronze campaign stars
World War II Victory Medal
US Presidential Unit Citation ribbon with two oak leaf clusters
Philippine Defense Medal
Philippine Liberation Medal with bronze battle star
Philippine Independence Medal
Philippine Presidential Unit Citation ribbon

Maude served in the Phillipines and earned her place as one of the "Angels of Bataan and Corregidor" and "The Battling Belles of Bataan". As Chief Nurse, Phillipine Department, U.S. Army, she and the other Angels became Prisoners of War in May, 1942, following the reassignment of U.S. Army & Navy nurses to Corregidor, and the subsequent surrender of the island.

She continued as Chief Nurse at Santo Tomas Internment Camp on Bataan until the camp was liberated by U.S. Army forces on February, 1945.

She married Dr. Charles Jackson in 1947. He personally returned her remains to Ontario.
