A son of Major General Charles T. Menoher, Pearson Menoher was born on November 14, 1892. He too, like his brothers and father, attended West Point Military Academy. In his class was future president of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Amazingly, Menoher served in three wars: World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. During WWII, Menoher commanded the 42nd Rainbow Division and was the Chief of Staff of the 15th Corps which became part of Patton's Third Army as well as serving Patton as his aide in it's drive through Europe. At some point during World War II, Pearson Menoher signed the document, along with other generals, that we have been researching for this website. In the Korean War he was the Assistant Commander of the 24th Division and took temporary charge when Major General William F. Dean was captured. By the end of the Korean Conflict, Menoher was Commander of the General V Corps. Throughout his military career, Pearson Menoher received multiple medals and awards including the Distinguished Service Medal, a Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, and a Bronze Star. After his death on the 12th of December, 1958, he too was buried in Arlington National Cemetery with the rest of his family.
