Last Known Activity:

BG Spalding served in combat in the Philippines (1902) and France (1918).

He served in several Engineer Districts between WW1 and WW2.

He was Commandant of the US Army Engineer School, 1933 - 1935.

He was the US Army General Staff G-4, 1936 - 1938.

He retired in July 1938.  He was recalled to active duty from Feb 1941 - July 1945.
