PRIVATE FIRST CLASS WAYNE W. HEBB WORKED AS A WELDER BEFORE BEING INDUCTED INTO THE ARMY ON 6 SEPTEMBER 1944. HE SERVED IN EUROPE FROM 8 FEBRUARY 1945 TO 12 JUNE 1945 WITH COMPANY "F" 405TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 102ND INFANTRY DIVISION.  ON 9 APRIL PFC HEBB WAS WOUNDED AND SENT TO THE 239TH GENERAL HOSPITAL THROUGH MAY AND WAS SENT BACK STATESIDE ON 12 JUNE 1945. AFTER ARRIVING STATESIDE ON 16 JUNE HE REMAINED ON ACTIVE DUTY UNTIL HE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED ON 29 OCTOBER 1945. WAYNE HEBB PASSED AWAY ON 23 APRIL 1982 IN SUPERIOR MICHIGAN.
