TECHNICIAN FOURTH GRADE TONY BARBEE WAS A COAL MINER NEAR THOMAS WEST VIRGINIA BEFORE HE ENLISTED ON 18 APRIL 1942. HE SERVED IN CANADA FROM 24 JULY 13 NOVEMBER 1942 (UNIT UNKNOWN). THEN AGAIN SERVED STATESIDE BEFORE LEAVING FOR SERVICE IN THE PACIFIC. T/4 BARBEE ARRIVED IN INDIA ON 7 MARCH 1943 AND TOOK PART IN THE CAMPAIGNS OF CENTRAL BURMA AND INDIA-BURMA (UNKNOWN UNIT). T/4 BARBEE ARRIVED STATESIDE AGAIN ON 22 MAY 1945 AND WAS ASSIGNED TO COMPANY "E" 1560TH SERVICE COMMAND UNIT IN CAMP ATTERBURY INDIANA BEFORE BEING HONORABLY DISCHARGED ON 20 SEPTEMBER 1945. THE SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX LISTS HIS DATE OF PASSING AS NOVEMBER 1970.
