Am a fulltime firefighter/EMT at Lockheed Martin in Ft Worth, Texas. Am also a paid-on call firefighter/EMT with the Benbrook Fire Dept. At both place deal with structural firefighting, EMS, HAZMAT, hig/low angle rescue. At Lockhed Martin I'm also a aircraft rescue firefighter. At Benbrook, I'm the Dive Team Coordinator.
The 300th Sustainment Brigade's history began on June 26th, 1945 as the 300th Transportation Group.
The unit activated on June 29th, 1945 in France, and was inactivated in France on November 22nd, 1945.
The 300th was redesignated as the 300th Transportation Corps Service Group on December 2nd, 1946 and allotted to the Organized Reserves.
On December 12th, 1946 the unit was activated in Baltimore, Maryland. During that timeframe, the Organized Reserves became the Army Reserve on July 9th, 1952.
The unit inactivated on August 29th, and during inactivation was redesignated as the 300th Transportation Group on April 3rd, 1959.
The unit changed locations several more times to include Fort George Meade, Maryland on November 1st, 1960; Andrew Air Force Base, Maryland on May 20th, 1964; and Butler, Pennsylvania on January 31st, 1968.
The 300th moved from Butler, Pennsylvania on September 18th, 2009 where it was redesignated and activated as the first Army Reserve Sustainment Command in the state of Texas. An activation ceremony was held on April 19th, 2008 in Grand Prairie at the Armed Forces Reserve Complex.
