Commissioned June 1925 as 2LT of Infantry.
Retired June 1960.
Author of the "Front and Center" articles published in Army Magazine from 1966 - 1988.
Authored three books on Leadership includng  What Generals Are Made Of.  
Pictured on the "Army in Action" battle print "Follow Me" depicting him leading his 34th Infantry Regiment onto the Leyte Beach in WW2.
As a US Army Lieutenant, he competed in the 1928 Olympics and finished 16th in the Pentathlon.
