POSTED ON 5.28.2021, POSTED BY: TERRY SMITH. MISSING YOU. On this Memorial Day I remember you Uncle Reed. I may have been pretty young but you have always been in my heart and on my mind. In fact you are the reason I joined the airforce in 79. May you always rest in peace we miss you and we love you.

POSTED ON 12.29.2004, POSTED BY: BILL GOUPIL. REID BANNISTER ,CHILDHOOD FRIEND. Reids parents and my parents were long time friends, I learned of his death through my mother years ago, I too am a Army veteran of Vietnam and lost many friends and companions

POSTED ON 7.9.2013, POSTED BY: RICK COLBERT @ 14125 SE 34TH CT. SUMMERFIELD, FLORIDA 34491. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. I was with the 630th But was sent to Dak to to deliver fresh equipment to replace items that had got hit. I got back the night after the attack. I was told they got stuck on night shift and were playing cards when they heard a noise outside. Russell didn't see anyone but did see a gook hat. he saw an object in the dark and picked it up, but it pulled the pin on an IED. They should not have been on that remote hill after dark. I had been on that hill a few times. Russ was well liked and still missed......... ( Stinky ).

POSTED ON 11.14.2002. POSTED BY: RONALD J. ANDERSON. REID WAS A FRIEND TO EVERYONE. Reid Bannister lived two houses from me on the same side of the street (Lennon Road). He came from a large family (I graduated from high school with his younger brother Ross). Reid enjoyed playing basketball and I didn't know anyone that did not like him. I was stationed at Marine Corps Supply Center, Barstow, California when I heard the news of his death. Reid was the first person, that I really knew, to die in Viet Nam.
