Best Moment Being a member of a elite unit shooting wild weapons, traveling and doing in evil people.
Worst Moment To terrible to tell. It was coyote ugly. If I tell ya I got to kill ya!
TS 4 sure. LOL
Chain of Command Seems the whole unit was a rabble LOL. I am sire it was just me but when you put sgt's and SSG on KP an the DRO is a SFC on KP something was wrong with this unit at the time. I heard it straightened out but all you did between training was drink, be a detail duty soldier cutting grass doing KP and the 82nd Airborne troops laughed. (Back in 71)
Other Memories I was in Special Forces for a brief period in Vietnam (at HQ's) and then at Ft Bragg I married decided it was not for a newly wed. While at a team picnic at Bragg they cooked the neighbors dog. Served it too all. Lots of drinking beer those days and it was not my style to be gung ho and a drinker. BTW, not especially a good way to welcome a new bride to the army. The 82nd and me were a better fit. Thrived in the 1/504 Inf and that was a far better thing for me and S.F.
