Grandpa passed in the summer of 2001. He retired as a local bar owner in Lake City, Minnesota.
Other Comments:
The bar that Grandpa owned was named Freddies Sprotsmen Hall of Fame. He also served in the CCC Camps prior to his draft notice. He married Betty Jane VonHelmist of rural Lake City after the war and reared two sons, David Wanye Hostettler and Robert Hostetter. David was killed in automobile accident in July 1976. My father.
