Best Friends Darryl Scott and Jim from Rhode Island
Best Moment When I got to meet 1sgt "Blood" Burns and learned a thing or two. Later again in the 82nd Airborne at Ft Bragg in 1971. He would have been proud to see me as a Sergeant Major at the end.
Worst Moment When I was wounded by a grenade thrown by what I thought was a kid waving who turned out to be a Viet Cong in April 67 while on Operation Junction City. One time then when they told us to Fix bayonets as we went through the Hobo Woods in S. Vietnam.
Chain of Command One hell of a professional unit and chain of command AIRBORNE!
Other Memories Hot, Wet, muddy, always sleepy, hurting shoulders and back from carrying 140 to 180 pounds. Few good times except once in town drunk as hell chasing ho's. OMG, it was fun.
