Best Moment Spending time with friends met during a very demanding assignment. I have never forgotten these guys. Eating grilled chicken gizards and drinking beer with the heavy weapons platoon. Trolling bars along "hooker hill" in Seoul.
Worst Moment The day a C-47 Chanook strayed over the DMZ and was shot down. The S-4 drew the battalions basic load, we loaded up, and waited for the word. We sat up all night watching the tanks rolling North to their pre-staging sites. I rate this a pucker factor of four.
Chain of Command SP5 James Marshall, PSNCO SFC T.P. Coony, PAC Supervisor CPT Karl K. Hamilton, Adjutant
Other Memories The 2d ID was the most combat ready division I have ever been assigned too. The threat was very real, the training was very tough, we worked hard and played hard.
