I spend nearly three years as the post Public Affairs Officer. The job and the location made it a fabulous and exciting job.
The Presidio of San Francisco was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962.
In 1989, the Presidio closed and was transferred to the National Park Service in October 1994.
