GRADUATION PHOTO
Although I was a member of the Michigan National Guard, I was fortunate to get into the regular army 6-month course at Fort Benning, Georgia. There was an army reserve soldier in our class too. Everyone else were regulars.
The first day I arrived into this living hell, the RA company commander braced me against the wall and warned me not to screw up his "regulars" or there would be hell to pay. He gave me all the incentive I needed to succeed. That and the thought of what it would be like to come home a failure.
