NO WHERE TO GO, NOTHING TO DO
Here I am standing on the troop ship USS Brekenridge heading for Japan. It was a couple of weeks trip and I was sea sick a good share of the time.
Every morning we awakened to the PA blaring "All hand on deck" and something like, "Sweepers, grab your brooms and make a clean sweep fore and aft."
Then they made us stay out on deck for the rest of the day. Mostly we ate OREO cookies.
At night we sometimes watched movies on the fantail. And ate more OREO cookies.
