This photo was cropped from the original. The original photo taken by the US Army at Fitzsimons Army Hospital included General B. Stiger to the left of Sharon Lane. Gen Stiger was shaking hands with Lane and congratulating her on the promotion to 1LT on August 30, 1968, after Lane completed her Medical Officer Training (AMEDD Officer Basic Course) at Fort Sam Houston Medical Training Center and then working at the Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado which is very close to Denver. Fitzsimons was her first Army Nursing assignment from June 1968 - April 1969.
