I was a Squad Leader with a guaranteed promotion to Private First Class at the end of Basic. When Basic ended, they withheld my promotion along with 3 others. While everyone else went home for 2 weeks before heading to their AIT station, the 4 of us were sent to Fort Polk LA, Tiger land for Jungle Warfare training. They did this because we refused to go to Officer's Candidate School. They put an MP on the door day and night and marched us to chow 3 times a day before locking us back into the barracks, They got our middle finger salute over that one.
