Not too long ago this older girl was herself an infant orphan. The older orphans help care for the younger children and help in chores around the orphanage. MEDCAP operation to An Lac Orphanage, Saigon, RVN, December 1968. Orphanage started in North Vietnam by Madame Vu Thi Ngai, following WWII and was relocated to Saigon in 1954 due to Communists take over in the north. The 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, out of Di An at this time, provided MEDCAPs to this Orphanage on a regular basis to help provide medical care to the children and give the orphanage needed food items.
