I had some world famous dogs and enjoyed the hobby! As I was farm zoned on this property and had a kennel license I was once asked why we tether dogs. Simple, game bred APBT's are territorial and often end up getting into it if they come into contact with one another and anything less with their pure unadulterating heart and strength they will just simply break to get at one another. My nieghbor who asked me this question was shocked when I coached one of my dogs who was on a temporary cable tie out to come to me when she snapped the cable as it was just a piece of string!
These dogs need allot of love and attention which means that they are never left like this by responsible kennel owners for extended periods of time!
