The formal Army Commissioning ceremony at WPI took place on Saturday, June
8, 1968. To prepare for the ceremony, we stripped our ROTC uniforms of all ROTC badges, and put on any appropriate Active Duty badges, medals, braids, etc. After the formal ceremony, my Mom, Anella Belisle, pinned on my gold 2nd Lieutenant's bars. This was one of the proudest moments of my life.
