This photo was made after a five mile hike in full gear (under the Georgia sunshine in August 1958), four hours of camaflage training, three hours of laying and arming anti personnel mines and anti-tank mines, then probing an unknown field for just those types of explosives. We then march in formation, double-time (120 steps per minutes) for 1.75 miles with full gear from the training area back to our company area. (I kept a kind of diary of all this - plus the photographs.)
