22, of Saint Joseph, Mo.; assigned to 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.; killed June 21 when he encountered enemy forces using small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades during combat operations in the vicinity of Naray, Afghanistan. Also killed was Staff Sgt. Heathe N. Craig.
