LEAD LOGISTICS SPECIALIST


 Mobilization/Demobilization platform for United States Army Reserve (USAR) and National Guard (NG) units deploying and redeploying to and from various areas of responsibility.  Prepare, compile and analyze historical logistics information for managers to utilize in readiness meetings, logistical briefings and deployment conferences.  I ensures that technical material is concise and correct to ensure customer satisfaction and optimum equipment availability.   prepares reports and presentations as required (with minimal supervision).


MAJOR FUNCTIONS:


·         Serves as transportation specialist for Mobilization/Demobilization to include motor pool control, inventory of equipment, preparing of spreadsheets, security, movement of equipment to and from shipping and receiving sites and preparation of required paperwork for shipping of equipment.


·         Receives and controls RESET equipment for active component units, inventories, prepares spreadsheets based on job orders received from the units, and coordinates movement of the equipment to the Source of Repair (SOR).


·         EVAC equipment to various Army Depots for repair based on items Not Repairable This Station (NRTS) and Automatic Return Item (ARI).


·         Serves as Classification Manager for Mobilization/Demobilization equipment to determine if the equipment meets or exceeds the Maintenance Expenditure Limit (MEL).


·         Assists Operation Readiness Fleet (ORF) Manager who is responsible for monitoring over 30 pieces of track and wheeled vehicles.  This includes but is not limited to preparing job orders for repairs, Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP) and Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), monitoring maintenance status, maintaining records of services, key control and assuring environmental compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.


·         Responsible for coordination and execution of the turn in of coded out equipment that is being turned in to Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO).


·         Performs as a logistical coordinator during mobilization training for deploying units.  This includes delivery and handling of Class I, III, IV, V sources of supply.  Delivers must meet the training schedules set up by the units and the ability to react to non-forecast changes to the schedule.  Individual must be adept at preparing schedules, matching licensed drivers to the class of supply being delivered and ability to coordinate with the unit to assure that the supplies are provide at the correct time and place.


·         Coordinates with Line Item Managers on parts that have long Estimated Shipping Dates.


·         Contacts local on site parts warehouses to locate needed parts and do walk thru.
