Served as Senior Instructor/Writer SME and NCOIC of the Sterile Products Section to more than 500 68Q at AMEDD Center and School, SFC Primus successfully integrated the previously independent sterile products course into the existing Pharmacy Technician Course. The integration saved the Army $18,000 per year. She also developed the Sterile Products Exportable Training and Competency Assessment program which provided Army pharmacy technicians the improved schoolhouse training at their present duty location.

Served as the Clinical Pharmacy NCOIC at Walter Reed Army Medical Center where she provided her extraordinary technical expertise and interpreted several thousand data points that serves as the foundation for two published journal articles while expertly managing four clinical information databases will 100% accuracy. She also served as the NCOIC of Inpatient Pharmacy at WRAMC where she supervised and mentored 26 technicians and maintained over 3,500 line items valued at over $500,000.

SFC Primus served admirably as the Training NOCIC for over 500 assigned Solders and ensured planning, coordination and tracking of all Alpha Company unit training at WRAMC. Because of her outstanding leadership abilities she was selected ahead of peers to act as the company First Sergeant performing admirably. SFC Primus was able to user her visionary skills and technical proficiency beyond the pharmacy to create and maintain a comprehensive database that tracks all accountable training data. After 10 years it is still used today.

Served as the Pharmacy Department NCOIC/Senior Enlisted Advisor for the US Army MEDDAC, Bavaria. She was the SME and overall project manager in the BMEDDAC's fielding of the Pharmacy 2000/Accumed system, which has significantly increased pharmacy dispensing safety, as well as decreased patient wait times at all clinics. SFC Primus was the pharmacy manager for all PDPs/RDPs and mail order prescriptions ensuring all of the BMEDDAC area's Soldiers deploying in support of OEF/OIF have the medications they need.

I was in A-Company. I was slotted into the Training NCO slot which was a 91B40-Medic position, I was a 91Q4Y7-Pharmacy Specialist. Since I was the 2nd highest ranked NCO in the Orderly Room, I would sit in for Top at some of the meetings.
Part of my duties was to train Soldiers on F.A.T.S (Fire Arms Training System) prior to us going to the range to qualify.
I was also assigned to Inpatient Pharmacy as the NCOIC and to Clinical Pharmacy where I worked only with Pharmacists.

Description Hurricane Katrina was the costliest natural disaster and one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. The storm is currently ranked as the third most intense United States landfalling tropical cyclone, behind only the 1935 Labor Day hurricane and Hurricane Camille in 1969. Overall, at least 1,245 people died in the hurricane and subsequent floods, making it the deadliest United States hurricane since the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane. Total property damage was estimated at $108 billion (2005 USD), roughly four times the damage wrought by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 in the United States.
The eleventh named storm and fifth hurricane of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season, Katrina originated over the Bahamas on August 23 from the interaction between a tropical wave and the remnants of Tropical Depression Ten. Early the following day, the new depression intensified into Tropical Storm Katrina. The cyclone headed generally westward toward Florida and strengthened into a hurricane only two hours before making landfall at Hallandale Beach and Aventura on August 25. After very briefly weakening to a tropical storm, Katrina emerged into the Gulf of Mexico on August 26 and began to rapidly deepen. The storm strengthened to a Category 5 hurricane over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, but weakened before making its second landfall as a Category 3 hurricane on August 29 in southeast Louisiana.
Katrina caused severe destruction along the Gulf coast from central Florida to Texas, much of it due to the storm surge and levee failure. Severe property damage occurred in coastal areas, such as Mississippi beachfront towns; over 90 percent of these were flooded. Boats and casino barges rammed buildings, pushing cars and houses inland; water reached 6–12 miles (10–19 km) from the beach.
Over fifty breaches in New Orleans's hurricane surge protection were the cause of the majority of the death and destruction during Katrina on August 29, 2005. Eventually 80% of the city and large tracts of neighboring parishes became flooded, and the floodwaters lingered for weeks. According to a modeling exercise conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), two-thirds of the deaths in Greater New Orleans were due to levee and floodwall failure. All of the major studies concluded that the USACE, the designers and builders of the levee system as mandated by the Flood Control Act of 1965, is responsible. This is mainly due to a decision to use shorter steel sheet pilings in an effort to save money. In January 2008, Judge Stanwood Duval, U.S. District Court, ruled that despite the Corps' role in the flooding, the agency could not be held financially liable because of sovereign immunity in the Flood Control Act of 1928. Exactly ten years after Katrina, J. David Rogers, lead author of a new report in the official journal of the World Water Council concluded that the flooding during Katrina "could have been prevented had the corps retained an external review board to double-check its flood-wall designs."
There was also an investigation of the responses from federal, state and local governments, resulting in the resignation of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) director Michael D. Brown, and of New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Superintendent Eddie Compass. Many other government officials were criticized for their responses, especially New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco, and President George W. Bush. Several agencies including the United States Coast Guard (USCG), National Hurricane Center (NHC), and National Weather Service (NWS) were commended for their actions. SFC Crawley has worked in every facet of the Pharmacy Branch. While assigned as the Sterile Products Coordinator, she updated the Sterile Products rotation with the CHCS computer system and rewrote all the student orders to reflect the use of the CHCS. This gave our students the ability to be trained in the most realistic environment available. She was also instrumental in moving the entire sterile products lab and having it operational with in 3 days.

SFC Crawley supported the integration of the Sterile Products Cours (ASI Y7) into the existing Pharmacy Specialist Course which saved the Government $17,967 and 3.61 man-hours per year. The integration ensured pharmacy technicians were fully qualified in all pharmacy operations which supports mission readiness of the AMEDD. Her ability to provide leadership and professional instruction directly contributed to an academic attrition rate below 10%.

SFC Crawley's leadership enabled the pharmacy branch to exceed all standards of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists accreditation survey. As a valuable team member, she assisted in all efforts in updating and revising lesson plans, As a result, our training program exceeds standards and ensures top quality graduates, benefiting all military pharmacies and their beneficiaries.

SFC Crawley expertly managed the largest and most difficult academic portion of the 91Q course. She was responsible for teaching 175 hours annually into three other MOS Producing Courses. She was also recognized by students through critique as an instructor that cares and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure their academic success. The lasting benefit of her leadership while she served as Class Advisor on 3 separate occasions, will be felt by the students she taught and by the soldiers and family members they will serve.

NCOIC of Inpatient Pharmacy filling an E-7 position. Prepared for Joint Commission survey resulting in zero negative findings. Redesigned inpatient vault operations allowing access to military on-call technicians resulting in overtime payments to civilian pharmacists being eradicated for after-hours narcotics dispensing. Implemented an inventory and control system for serially numbered crash cart seals allowing instantaneous location of any crash cart within the facility.

Unselfishly giving of her off-duty time, SSG Crawley tutored four fellow technicians in preparation for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. All five who took the test passed the first time versus the national average of only 60% first time pass. Through personal initiative, she established herself as the primary preceptor for pharmacy technician student externs from a local college. She assisted several soldiers in preparation for promotion and Soldier-of-the-Month boards with outstanding success.

SSG Crawley trained over 100 Department of Nursing and 10 DENTAC personnel on utilization of the electronic bulk ordering module of CHCS. She researched and developed a comprehensive chart of IVPB, IV, and IM dosages for use by Department of Nursing personnel after-hours. She created inventory sheets used daily in the Emergency Room and DocuMed dispensing areas. She also created an after-hours medication locator guide that is used by all Department of Nursing and Emergency Room staff on a daily basis.

SSG Crawley served as the CTT proctor and trainer for the Pharmacy since her arrival which resulted in 100% first-time "GO" for all assigned military during the past two testing cycles. Additionally, she was designated as the Terminal Area Support Officer for the Department and expertly maintained system readiness which precluded any down-time or additional waiting time due to computer malfunction. Performed admirably as Department and MEDDAC trainer on CHCS system will all inpatient procedures.

Worst Moment
My worst moment actually happened the 1st time I attended BNCOC and caused me to be released from the course and have my ulnar nerve moved in my left arm. I tripped and fell on my way out to the pavilion to meet up with my classmates to study. I was put on a profile, but it was no big deal because we were going on block leave so I had time to recover. Unfortunately, when I got back my elbow had gotten worse and I was released. That was in 1995

Riding in the Helicopter as a "patient" and then getting to ride in it again in the jumpseat with the door open. I had never been in a helicopter before and although it was a short ride, it was awesome. Thank you Mr. Bustamante.

Other Memories
For a while, I worked at TMC#2, which is now SGT David Bleak TMC. It is in the Basic Training area of Fort Sill. When I worked there, it was located at the top of the hill across from someone's motorpool. I beleive we were in Building 6002 on Edwards Street just after turning off Berry Street. If you were looking at the building from the front, then TMC#2 occupied the left third of the building. The clinic NCOIC was SSG Gerald Heath.
Some of the medics that worked there were: SPC Angel Arce (male), SPC Charles Pickwell, PFC Zoraida Turnipseed. SPC Leah Garza was one of our Patient Admin clerks along with SGT Rose (?) Washington. We had 3 Physicians Assistants: Ms. Donna MIlligan, Mr. Ruben, and Mr. Mike Swetman. They were Warrent Officers when I started working there, but at some point the Army changed them to commissioned officers and I don't recall what theri ranks became.
We had a military physician, CPT Charles Ryan. pretty sure he was the OIC and a civilian physician whose name I don't recall. CPT Ryan got out of the Army and became Dr. Elizabeth Ryan and the last time I saw her, she was working at the Family Practice clinic at the hospital (Reynolds Army Community Hospital).
We had to be at work at 0500 because we were the TMC for the Basic and OSUT trainees. The clinic doors closed at 1400, but that didn't mean that was when we left. We did not leave until the last patient was seen and since I was pharmacy, I was always one of the last people to leave.
I remember one year, myself and a few of the medics pranked Mr. Ruben for April Fools Day. He always drank his coffee black and would leave it at the front counter so I dropped a pyridium tablet in it which then caused him to pee orange. We also took a bunch of condoms and attached them to his car anywhere we could. And, the final thing I did was to soak his chair with water. He knew we were out to get him so he was opening all drawers very carefully and even touched the seat of his chair and found out it was wet. Well, as the day progressed he forgot that his chair was wet and sat down. It was very funny because then he was walking around with the ass of his BDUs all wet and still had to see patients.
My pharmacy was an old arm's room, which was perfect because it had a safe in it. There had not been a pharmacy tech working there previously and they were limited to prepacked medicine that they got from the Outpatient Pharmacy at the hospital. So, to help reduce the amount of lost training time for the trainees, I was sent out there to run a full fledged pharmacy that way a larger variety of medications, including controlled substances, could be maintained there and the trainees did not have to loose a day of training when they needed something other than prepacked medications. I was also responsible for maintaining the medications for the 8 Battalion Aid Stations (BAS) that were manned by our medics every morning. Before the medics would go out each day, they came to see me to pick up their restock orders. Again, this facilitated with cutting down the amount of time the trainees lost by treating simple colds, bumps, and bruises at the BAS so they could get back to training.

Edited over 900 pharmaceutical products to ensure correct spelling of medication and to change to generic name (trade name) format as applicable. Revised over 4000 product "short codes" which allows for increased efficiency in calling products up on the computer.
Achievement #3
Inactivated and deleted 1490 pharmaceutica products from the computer system to decrease the chances of incorrect product selection and to create additional hard disk space. All product updates were done in alignment with the RACH formulary, and the formulary was updated as well.
Achievement #4
Edited master alpha listing in computer in order that pharmaceutical products can be called up and printed by generic name, allowing for future updates to be performed more expeditiously.

Best Moment
I was in "1st Platoon" in PLDC and we were co-billeted with "2nd Platoon". We had a lot of pride in our platoon so much that we found a long straight stick and attached a cravat to it to create a platoon guidon. I marched my platoon to formation with our guidon bearer leading the way. The other two platoons were dumbfounded and complained to the cadre. Needless to say, we were not allowed to carry our guidon anymore.
Other Memories
After the other "platoons" complained about our guidon we did a recon mission on their hooch. We had found a dead skunk in the field, placed it in a sack and stealthily made our way to the tree line near their hooch. We waited until nightfall and for them to finally go to sleep. We then cut their power and tossed the smelly skunk into the crawl space under their billets. When they awoke in the morning they had no idea what had hit them. It was hilarious.

Your memories of this course
We were class Q-6. Our barracks was right across the streed from the Academy of Health Sciences (AHS). Even though we were so close, we had to march in formation to and from AHS eveyday and had to call cadence. I recall we had at least 3 prior service members in our class.

This was a month long course that everyone except medics had to take. It was an introductory course of the medical field that covered basic medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, and first aid.

Best Moment
One memory I have is that there were 4 rows of bunks and the row I was in was in front of the door to the Drill Sergeants' office. In my row, there seemed to be the older soldiers. I remember one of the younger soldiers getting called on the carpet in the DS office for something. She was standing there in front of the wall-locker that faced the DS desk and he was standing in front of her. He slammed his hand onto the wall locker, which was empty except for hangers, and it made such a noise and she jumped because it startled her so badly. It was all we could do to keep from laughing because us older soldiers (I was 23) knew what was going to happen. I still laugh about that to this day.
Worst Moment
Doing sit-ups on the floor in the barracks with no mat under me. I still have a scar from that.
Getting an LBE hook across my eye. They had to take me to Georgia to get my eye looked at and I had to wear an eye patch for several days. Fortunately, there was no permanent damage.

At Grafenwoehr, the Chief of Pharmacy was 1st Mrs. Jeanette Gabbert, then came LTC Ray (a reservist), and finally CPT Michael Ronn (now LTC).
I was assigned to BMEDDAC, which was headquartered in Vilseck, but my duty location was at Grafenwoehr. I had my own TMP vehicle because I had to visit all of seven of my pharmacies:
