Pvt. Andrews began his service in Korea on 11 July 1951.

In Korea, he served with 1st Squad, 1st Platoon, 8th Infantry Regiment.  He served as a scout for his unit.

On 3 August 1951, his unit attacked and took Hill 202.  He was killed shortly thereafter by a Chinese mortar round while eating a meal. (from a letter to the family written by then PFC George Knutson, ancestry.com)

He left a wife, Rose, at his passing.
