Last Known Activity Sgt. Frank Surik served with the 466th Parachute Field Artillery Battaion, 17th Airborne Division. His unit arrived in England in August 1944. A 75mm unit.
The unit served in the ETO during the Batttle of the Bulge, the Ardennes Campaign, as ground forces.
He was killed following the mass jump over the Rhine on 24 March 1945. He died near Rhade, Germany.. Known as Operation Plunder under the general plan known as, this was the first airborne assault since Operation Market Garden.
