Last Known Activity
Private Charles Averill enliste 21 February 1941 at Fort MacCarthur, San Pedro, Los Angeles, California. He received basic training at Fort Douglas, Utah.  Prior to his service, he worked for Utah Fuel Company in Castle Gate, Utah.

In the PTO, he served with HQ Detachment and C Company,1st Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, Philippine Division.

He died of dysentery as a POW of the Japanese at Camp O'Donnel, Luzon, Philippines.
