Sergeant Florencio Austria died while being held as a Prisoner of War on 27 August 1942, by Japanese Forces at Camp O'Donnel, Luzon, Philippines. 

He was assigned to the 88th Field Artillery Regiement, Philippine Scouts.

He remains MIA.
