GREAT GUY AND A TRUE HERO

Posted on 12/5/01 - by Jim O'Brien, Lieutenant, NYPD (Retired)
I only knew Al for a short time when we were both 2nd Lieutenants in Co. D, 2nd Bn at Fort Gordon, yet I think of him often. Al, SFC Charlie White and I became great friends during that brief time. His death was a tremendous loss to his new wife, his friends and this nation. He was a great guy and a true hero. Al - You're always in our thoughts and prayers.
