Dave was my big brother

Dear Dave, I still miss you every day, and can't believe 43 years have
passed. Rick came to meet me, Jerry, and Brenda last April, just before
your birthday, and told us what happened. He gave us such a precious
gift, Dave. We finally understand that you were not only a hero in our
minds, but are a hero in the hearts and souls of the men who served
with you. Rick still feels your presence, and so do I. Mom, Dad, and Jeff
are all with you now, and that gives me peace. You will never be
forgotten and will always be my hero! I love you, Barb

Dave was my big brother

My family and I recently met the man who was with my brother, Dave, the
day he was killed 42 years ago. His name is Rick Dimas, and he has given
us the precious gift of relaying to us the last moment of our brother's life.
He also has confirmed with us that our brother was the strong leader and
hero we always imagined he would have been, and was loved by his men.
This is an excerpt from a poem that I think describes what was on the
minds and in the hearts of these heroic men every day as they did their
duty in Hell. God bless them all..... Got Your Back I am a soldier serving
proudly, standing tall. I fight for freedom, yours and mine, by answering
this call. I do my job while knowing, the thanks it sometimes lacks. Say a
prayer that I come home, its me that's got your back

Honoring Dave
Dave was a wonderful son and brother who loved his family
and was waiting to get home to his two children Deb and
Jeff. We all miss home very much. He was a small town boy
with hopes for the future.
