SP5 Richard Vines served with 191st Assault Helicopter Company, 214th Aviation Battalion, 12th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade. His tour began on 18 September 1967. 

He and his crew were lost when they were shot down in their UH-1D (#65-10019).
