Last Known Activity

SP5 Harry Theurkauf died while serving his country while deployed to Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam.  He served over a year in Vietnam.  Also KIA that day from 2/34 were 1LT Richard Ancil Holt (1542) and SP5 Dennis Richard Volk (71H20).

While growing up he attended Walter L. Bachrodt Elementary School, Peter H. Burnett Juinor High School, and Abraham Lincoln High School.  After high school his family moved from Rosemary Gardens, California to Grass Valley, California.

There is a PFC David E. Freestone and SP5 Harry L. Theurkauf Memorial Bridge along Route 20/49 which goes over Route 174 in downtown Grass Valley, California.  The bridge as built in 1970.
