Last Known Activity
1st Lt. Shiefer was the command pilot flying aboard a UH-1H (#67-17699) during a Ranger team insertion. As theAaircraft settled into the LZ, it was hit repeatedly in the forward section by 12.7mm AA machinegun and RPG fire. 4 of the Rangers survived the crash
