 Additional Information
Last Known Activity
Gary was a helicopter pilot and was killed while piloting a Cobra AH-1G (#68-15061) with his co-pilot, WO1 Theodore Van Skiles, when a mid-air collision occurred with a 3rd Brigade Command and Control UH-1H (#67-17821) during the Toan Thang Offensive, Long An Province, South Vietnam.

According to the Fly Army site, "The command and control ship came inside the orbit of the AH-1G, and while climbing struck the AH-1G in the underneath left side with his main rotor blade." All aboard both aircraft were killed.

Gary's remains were interred in Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka, Humboldt County, California, in the Mausoleum.
