Vietnam Tour of Duty Started April 4, 1968

2nd Platoon, B Company, 3rd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.  According to Vietnam Order of Battle by Stanton, the 3rd Battalion, 506th Infantry (Currahee) was sent to Vietnam as the fourth maneuver battalion to the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam.  It primarily served with Task Force South, I Field Force, Vietnam and the 173rd Airborne Brigade; page 159.

Teodorito died due to multiple fragmentation wounds sustained on August 25, 1968 during a combat operation when engaged by a hostile force in a fire fight.  Teodorito was medically attended to in the field and later admitted to the 7th Surgical Army Hospital in Cu Chi where he died from his wounds on August 26, 1968. He was wounded in the Binh Thuan Province, U.S. Military Region 2, Republic of South Vietnam.

“Sergeant Teodorito Rios-Rosario, a 23-year-old native of Aibonito, Puerto Rico, was a squad leader in 2LT Terry Weaver’s 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company.  He had been in country 134 days when he died on August 26, 1968 from wounds received in the Battle of Dai Hoa-Xuan Phon Hamlet during Operation VC Contact on August 25, 1968, in the Binh Thuan Province, South Vietnam, II Corps.”
