He was killed on February 12th, 1969 in the "Battle of Outpost SARA" - along with two other Currahees: Corporal Billy Frank Harper, 19, Cleveland, Mississippi and Sgt. Robert W. Hook, 20, from Dallas, Texas. (This from "The Stand Alone Battalion" by Jerald Berry and Joe Alexander.)
