Sgt. Podebradsky was killed February 15th when he stepped on a land mine while on patrol in Vietnam.

He was born June 19, 1947 in Oconto Falls, WI. He was a 1965 graduate of Lena High School and entered the U.S. Army in May, 1966. He received his basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, MO and upon completion of basic training, he took advanced infantry training at Fort Ord, CA. He served 11 months in Hawaii before being sent to Vietnam in December 1967. While in Vietnam, he was stationed at Chu Lai.
