Best friends in the 687th
Jerry "Nick" was my best friend while serving together in the 687th. Nichols, Nelmar and I went on R&R together to Thailand and had a real good time. I miss you very much. Here's to ya Nick!

I served with Jerry in C Company 87th Engineer Battalion beginning in August 1968 we were both in earth moving platoon. 87th Battalion sent home and the 687th Land Clearing Company was formed. Jerry and I both operated dozers clearing the jungle. We were seperated when 3rd Platoon was shipped to DaNang. I still remember the day very vividly when we received word that we had lost Jerry. My condolence to his family, I and his fellow comrades think of him still and always will. We love you brother!
