Woodsfield Soldier First Monroe County Viet Nam Casualty

Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. McCammon, of Woodsfield, Route 3, received a telegram, last Friday, notifying them that their son, Staff Sergeant Glenn Eugene McCammon, 32, had been killed in fighting on Chu Pong, in Viet Nam, on Wednesday, November 17, 1965.
Staff Sergeant McCammon, who enlisted in the Army in 1953, had served both in The Orient and in Europe. He left on August 29, 1965, for Viet Nam and arrived there on Septmber 18. He was born February 20, 1933, on Woodsfield, Route 3, the son of Charles T. and Mildred Norris McCammon, who survive.
Also surviving are his wife, Shelia, of Perry, Florida; three children of a previous marriage, now in Germany, Lori Gale, nine; Kirk Douglas, seven, and Beth Ann, five; one brother, Roy McCammon, of Marietta; four sisters, Miss Januaryice McCammon, Columbus; Mrs. Nancy Watson, Susan McCammon and Debbie McCammon, of the home.
Services will be held in Woodsfield with internment at Oaklawn Cemtery.
