3rd man back
Posted for: RUSSELL LEE MATHENY:
I was there that day after we lost Blalock to a booby trap. We then moved down the same hedge row a few yards. Then you crossed through and then Harmon, I followed as the 3rd man back. Then schrapnel the size of lawn mower blades flew through the air. I heard Harmons cires for help as the grassy field was now on fire. I stomped the fire out around him to ease his fears of being burned. Then I approached you, but you were already gone. I remember the stories you told us about Florida and how nice it was back in the world. Russell you will always be in my thoughts. Thank you for your sacrafice.I miss you. - Craig
