"PFC Krueger entered the Army on 14 September 1964.  He entered Vietnam on 16 August 1965 and was assigned to  D Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry,1st Cavalry Division.

He was at Ia Drang, at LZ X-Ray and Albany when the battalion encountered hostile forces 7 kilometers northeast of Cu Prong Mountain, Hill 732. He died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head from hostile rifle fire." He was serving as a radio operation at that time.
